OPEN is
committed to providing local evaluators and users of evaluation with
useful and informative programming. The Program Chair, a volunteer and
elected member on the OPEN Council, leads the volunteer Program
Committee to
plan and implement high-quality OPEN meetings and events (including the
Annual Conference) and ensures a variety of educational, informational,
and networking activities that respond to member needs and highlight
the Council's annual theme. The
Program Committee meets monthly.

Qualitative Software Training
As part of its
continuing
professional development and training series, OPEN offers a two-day
workshop on ATLAS.ti, a powerful computer application for qualitative
data
analysis, led by leading ATLAS.ti trainer Dr. Nick Woolf.
Day 1 covers the basic
concepts behind the program and its features; strategies for setting up your
project and designing your data analysis; using ATLAS.ti appropriately for
different approaches to qualitative research; and the theory and practice of
coding.
Day 2 covers the advanced
features of the program, focusing on the use of graphical networks from the
very beginning stages of your project; strategies for using complex retrievals
with the Query Tool; and strategies and tools for team working.
We must have full enrollment
(15 spaces) to be able to offer this training. Please register early if you are
interested in this training. Lunch is included. $550 for members; $150 for
students; and $ 675.00 for non-members

Practice
AEA annual meeting brings together
approximately 2500 evaluation practitioners, academics, and students, and
represents a unique opportunity for participants to gather with professional
colleagues in a supportive, invigorating, atmosphere. The conference breaks into 38 Topical Strands that
examine the field from methodology, context, or issue of interest to the field
as well as the Presidential Strand highlighting this year's Presidential Theme
of Evaluation Policy and Evaluation Practice. Presentations may explore
the conference theme or any aspect of the full breadth and depth of evaluation
theory and practice.
